1. Information we handle
PaperVeil may access photos or the camera only when you choose to import an image or scan a document. Your selected images, scanned pages, generated PDFs, extracted text, and file names are used only to provide the app’s features.
2. On-device processing and storage
Document scanning, image conversion, filters, cropping, PDF creation, and text recognition are processed on your device. Generated PDFs are stored locally in the app’s storage area on your device unless you choose to share or export them.
3. Data we collect
PaperVeil does not require an account and does not collect document contents, photos, generated PDFs, or extracted text through a PaperVeil server. We do not sell personal information or use your documents for advertising, profiling, or training.
4. Sharing
PaperVeil shares a document only when you actively use an iOS sharing or export action. The recipient, service, and privacy practices of that destination are governed by your choices and that third party’s policies.
5. Permissions
Camera access is used only to scan documents. Photo access is used only to import images you select. You can change these permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
6. Retention and deletion
PaperVeil keeps generated PDFs on your device until you delete them. You can delete an individual PDF from the Files section in the app. Deleting the app removes its local app data, subject to your device and backup settings.
7. Children
PaperVeil is not directed to children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to PaperVeil or applicable law. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made.
